“I’m looking forward to the week and the beginning of the first session of the 40th Parliament,” said Mr. Cannan.  “On Tuesday the 18th, the members of the House of Commons will elect a Speaker and on Wednesday, November 19th at 1:30 pm, the Government’s Speech from the Throne will be read by Governor General Michaelle Jean,” he said.

Cannan also said he will likely find out this week which Standing Committees he will be assigned.

“We have some challenging times ahead of us,” said Cannan.  “My goal is to continue to work my hardest for Kelowna-Lake Country and protect my constituents’ interests,” Cannan concluded.
