OTTAWA – On Wednesday, June 1, 2011, Ron Cannan was officially sworn in as the Member of Parliament for Kelowna-Lake Country. Mr. Cannan is pictured here with his wife Cindy.

“I’m looking forward to the beginning of the first session of the 41th Parliament and am proud to be a member of a majority Conservative government,” said Mr. Cannan. 

The first order of business is to elect the Speaker, which will take place today, Thursday, June 2, beginning at 11:00 am (EST).  On Friday, June 3, at 2:30 pm (EST), Governor General David Johnston will deliver the Government’s Speech from the Throne indicating the Government’s priorities for the 41st Parliament.

“Canadians can count on our Government to stay focussed on the economy, to keep taxes low and find more ways to create jobs,” said Cannan.  “My goal is to continue to work my hardest for Kelowna-Lake Country and ensure my constituents’ interests are taken care of,” Cannan concluded.
